Job Title: Residential Children’s Home Manager
Salary: Up to £55,000 (dependent on experience)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week (on call rota)
Location: Rotherham
About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and motivated Residential Children’s Home Manager to lead and oversee a specialist residential home in Rotherham. The home provides care for a young person with Autism, severe intellectual disability, and sensory processing difficulties.
This is a unique opportunity for a compassionate and skilled professional to make a meaningful difference in a highly personalised care environment. The successful candidate will ensure the highest standards of care, safeguarding and therapeutic support. You will be supported by a multi disciplined team, consisting of registered nurses who specialise in mental health and learning disability, senior support workers and support workers. This team will be underpinned with oversight from our Consultant Psychologist and CAMHS Psychiatrist.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the day-to-day running of the residential home
- Ensure compliance with Ofsted regulations and safeguarding requirements and maintain accurate records and documentation to demonstrate compliance with regulatory expectations
- Supervise, support and develop the staff team to maintain high quality care standards
- Develop and implement individual care plans for the young person in the home and ensure they are regularly reviewed and updated
- Promote a structured, nurturing and predictable environment that supports the young person’s well being
Essential Requirements
- Two years of experience working with children in a residential care environment in the last five years and at least one year at senior level
- Extensive knowledge and experience in safeguarding children and young people, ensuring compliance and regulations
- A thorough understanding of relevant legislation and regulations governing residential children’s homes in the UK. Also familiarity with regulatory frameworks and inspection processes established by Ofsted.
- Skills in managing challenging behaviour among children and young people in care, employing positive behaviour management strategies and de-escalation techniques
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey information clearly, sensitively and effectively to children, young people, families, staff members and external stakeholders.
Desirable
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People’s Services; or equivalent; or preparedness to work towards the same
